Teacher

Mrs. Susan Pascale has been playing the violin since the 4th grade. She studied at the prestigious Mannes College of Music in New York City and has played professionally for over 15 years.

When Mrs. Pascale moved from New York to South Pasadena in April 2001 she wanted to enroll her daughter, Arianna, in an elementary orchestra. When she found out that South Pasadena did not offer a program for grammar school-aged children she started one to fill the void.

Then in April 2002, Mrs. Pascale was hired by the SPMS to take over the Middle School Orchestra. This year's enrollment has grown by more than 20%!

Current Program:

The Orchestra is comprised of student at all levels from 6th grade through 8th grade. Students must audition on their instrument upon entering the orchestra for placement. This year we will include band members on several pieces to turn our String Orchestra into a Full Orchestra.

Instruments:

The Middle School Orchestra includes violins, violas, cellos and bass.
